Dear Tavolo guests,
After eight months of being shuttered, I am heartbroken to announce that we have made the difficult decision to close Tavolo Pizza Pasta Wine permanently. Since Covid came into our lives last March, we have been trying to make sense of our next step at the South Oakville Mall and unfortunately this is the only choice we are left with.
I want to assure you that this decision did not come easy, and I want you all to know that there have been many sleepless nights trying to find a way through this mess.
When we were approached to open in 2013, we were told that the South Oakville mall would have full occupancy and some large anchor tenants. As you know, they never reached any of those goals, and despite lofty projections, the tenant base continues to erode.
As you know, this past week we have been pushed into the "Red Zone", and with only the opportunity of doing ten guests at a time leading into the Christmas season we came to the very difficult decision to close for good. There is no way with the square footage of Tavolo that we can sustain these types of restrictions.
The Tavolo family of guests has been a wonderful one, filled with colourful people that supported us over the last 7 years. You have trusted us with special nights out, family celebrations and we got to see many families evolve and unite over meals at our tables. I also need to thank our team of staff who gave all of themselves to make Tavolo what it was, a wonderful place to dine, celebrate and make memories.
We sure are going to miss each and everyone of you at Tavolo but hope that you will continue to support our Catch Hospitality restaurants going forward. We look forward to reopening the rest of our restaurants again soon and in the meantime you can find all of your favorites from Tavolo and all the Catch restaurants for delivery on skip the dishes.
I wish you and your family a healthy and wonderful holiday season.
Yours in Hospitality,
Doug Greco
President
